Upper Dublin Student Holds Tech Center Assembly for UD Students

Gabe Wasserman, an Upper Dublin High School Senior held an assembly for 9th and 10th grade students about what is offered as Eastern Center for Arts and Technology.

From Eastern Center for Arts and Technology:

On Thursday, March 29, Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) Landscape Contracting/Upper Dublin High School senior, Gabe Wasserman, held an assembly intended for 9th and 10th grade students from 9:15 – 10 a.m. at Upper Dublin High School. Gabe worked with Upper Dublin Assistant Principal, Gerald Thompson, to organize the event that included representation for all 14 EASTERN programs with a current student and a working professional in that particular field. The goal of this assembly was to inform Upper Dublin students of the opportunities available at EASTERN and to alleviate some of the misconceptions surrounding career and technical education that Gabe encounters on a regular basis.

Gabe recruited his fellow EASTERN/Upper Dublin students to represent their programs, and even a few EASTERN students from other high schools volunteered their time. In addition to Gabe representing Landscape Contracting, volunteers for this project included the following Upper Dublin students: Christopher Unger and Jeremiah Monser-Doman represented Automotive Technology; Scott MacKinlay represented Commercial Art; Benjamin Welch represented Computer Network Administration; Kathryn Hepp represented Culinary Arts; Daniel Root represented Electrical Technology; Joseph Cechony represented Electronics Engineering Technology; Tyler Fox represented Construction Technology; Christopher Peter represented Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning; and Kenneth Hawk and Devon Massey represented Protective Services. Bryan Rose from Upper Moreland High School represented Welding Technology; Edward Halton from Springfield Township High School represented Cosmetology; Nicole Gordon from Springfield Township High  School represented Allied Health; and Gregory Garvin from Abington High School represented Collision Repair Technology.
