The holiday shopping season is about to begin. For decades the traditional kick off to holiday shopping has been the day after Thanksgiving, better known as Black Friday, and is just a few days away. Small Business Saturday was started by American Express in 2010 and every year since has been held on the Saturday between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This years Small Business Saturday will be November 30th. It is estimated that over one hundred million consumers shopped small last year, which indicated a tremendous momentum swing to believing in the premise of shopping local small businesses. Small Business Saturday is a day intended to recognize and support small businesses and restaurants across the country but particularly in our own community.
