Tryon Elected President Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce

Hatboro, PA–The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors recently elected Joseph J. Tryon president for a two-year term.

"I am honored to accept this position with the chamber, and recently met with key representatives from more than 30 area businesses and organizations to set positive goals for enhancing the ongoing revitalization of Hatboro," says Tryon. "It is my vision, and mission, to expand our business-to-business forums and interactive networking opportunities for the membership which will benefit all sectors of the community–especially as we approach Hatboro's Tricentennial in 2015."

Tryon is the President and CEO of Hatboro Federal Savings, and a past president of the 325-member, 45-year-old, Greater Hatboro Chamber. "As a driving force in this community, Joe Tryon has led Hatboro's renaissance by cultivating positive change and growth through his own leadership example by supporting all of the borough's organizations," says Main Street Manager Steve Barth. "Spearheading Greater Hatboro's Chamber, Joe will imprint his talents, integrity and skills to increase the value of membership in this dynamic organization."

According to Barth, Hatboro is the fastest growing small town in Eastern Montgomery County saying, "Hatboro has opened more than 60 new businesses within the past year and occupancy has increased from 76% to 98% in just two years. There are many new shops, antiques stores and restaurants to explore in our historic borough."

The Hatboro chamber has initiated, and will soon sponsor a new event, called Second Saturday. The event will be located along York Road’s business district and will feature live music and entertainment with artists and craftspeople demonstrating and selling their wares. Local restaurants and vendors will offer refreshments and special menu items.

"As we move forward, making positive changes for the borough's continued resurgence, the chamber will host even more fun and family-oriented events which will be uniquely Hatboro's," says Tryon. "We invite not only our residents, but also those from neighboring communities, to join us and enjoy Hatboro's quaint downtown charm."

The chamber, located at 220 S. York Road, hosts special and annual events to support area businesses, both large and small, including the Halloween Stroll, Holiday Parade and Moonlight Memories Car Show. The show is now in its 20th year, and draws more than 50,000 visitors to Hatboro each July.
