“We are constantly looking for great people to join our team,” said Monty Moran, co-chief executive officer at Chipotle. “Regardless of your background or experience, you can succeed at Chipotle if you have a passion for making the people around you better.”
“This time of year, we tend to see a slowdown in the number of applications we receive, but our hiring needs remain strong,” Chris Arnold, a Chipotle spokesman, said in an email to Patch. “We thought that by doing this on a national level, we could create an influx of new applications at a time where we generally see a decline in application numbers.”
Anybody interested can apply online at the burrito chain’s National Career Day websiteto select a location and set up a time to interview.
After the interview, “We may hire some people on the spot, but not everyone,” Arnold said. Some may be called back for an additional interview.
“But all of this will happen within short order following the event,” he said.
Chipotle touted its employee satisfaction and upward mobility in a press release announcing career day.
The company said that in a recent internal survey, 90 percent of employees said they were “proud to work at the company,” while 97 percent thought they worked in an “empowered culture where top performers are rewarded and provided with advancement opportunities.”
Additionally, the company said that 95 percent of its managers are promoted within the company, including 10,000 in the last year who started as hourly crew.
The company operates more than 1,850 restaurants in the United States.
“We provide extraordinary opportunity for advancement,” Arnold said. “We look to hire individuals who we think have the potential to become future leaders, and we develop and promote our people like no other restaurant company… In this way, I think we are minting the American Dream in a way that few other companies are.”
