Byzantine Icon Art Exhibition

Local artist Lina Minicucci will host a solo exhibition of her Byzantine Iconography artwork, Feb. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m., at Church of the Messiah.

The public is invited to attend this free exhibit.

Byzantine Iconography is an art featuring religious images initially painted during the time of the Byzantine Empire, approximately 306 to 1453 A.D. The icons were created to promote reverence in worship and to serve as a link between the worshipper and God. Today such paintings continue to inspire and evoke powerful religious feelings and devotion.
