Centennial Singers Spring Concert

The Bux-Mont Centennial Singers will present their 38th Annual Spring Concert –“Music, Music, Music!” -- on Saturday, June 8 at 8 p.m. at Log College Middle School, 730 Norristown Road (north of Street Road), Warminster, PA 18974.

The Singers dedicate this concert to the memory of the group’s remarkable creator and first director, Lonny Strang. Under the current direction of Lisa VanHeldorf, accompanied by piano virtuoso Charles DeMets, the program will include spirited offerings from Hayden to Hammerstein and beyond.

Soloists Cindy Swartz, Jesse Hasty and Ed Schneiderman will anchor Hayden’s famous chorus from The Creation, “The Heavens Are Telling.” The program includes the patriotic standards, “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” and “America, the Beautiful.” Folk and spiritual numbers are represented by “Oh Lord, What a Morning,” Simple Gifts,” and “Danny Boy.” Featured show tunes are “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from Carousel and “This Is the Moment” from Jekyll & Hyde. Popular songs include ”Music, Music, Music,” “Joy to the World,” “ What a Wonderful World,” “Can’t Smile Without You,” “Proud Mary,” and Abba’s “Dancing Queen.”
