Montgomery County Libraries Welcome GlaxoSmithKline’s Science in the Summer

Montgomery County students entering second through sixth grade are invited to register and attend GlaxoSmithKline’s Science in the Summer. This free and fun experiment-oriented program is taught by certified teachers to groups of 15 students in two age groups: children entering second and third grades (Level I) and children entering fourth through sixth grades (Level II). GSK’s Science in the Summer is sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in partnership with The Franklin Institute and local libraries.

GSK’s Science in the Summer program will introduce Montgomery County students to the wonders of Genetics with interesting investigations that teach about human chromosomes and genes. Students will build a cell, extract DNA from a strawberry, examine their fingerprints, and construct a DNA molecule.
