St. Andrew's Sunday

ST.ANDREWS DAY OBSERVANCE

At its November 13 worship service, The First
Presbyterian Church, Willow Grove, will celebrate its Scottish roots at its
10:00 a.m. service.   Following a form of worship that dates back to
1564 the pastor will be accompanied into the sanctuary by a “Beadle” , carrying
the Bible, and a bagpiper escort.

As a further observance of the provisions included in the 1564 “Book of Common Order”, by
John Knox--regarded as the father of Presbyterianism—worshippers will be invited to present pieces of tartan for blessing.

Members, guests, and visitors are invited to present their own tartans for blessing.  In keeping with the spirit of
the occasion, all are encouraged to wear something of plaid.  The service will be conducted by Rev. David
Preisendanz, Pastor.

The church is located at the corner of Easton (Rte. 611) and Barrett Rds.
