York Road Gunpoint Robbery Suspect Arrested: Police

Police said a man caused a minor crash on York Road then robbed a woman of her cellphone at gunpoint Monday morning.

UPPER MORELAND TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Montgomery County said they arrested a man who robbed a driver at gunpoint Monday morning.

According to Upper Moreland Police, the incident occurred at 6:56 a.m. on York Road near Davisville Road in Upper Moreland.

The suspect was driving erratically, police said.

He then turned in front of the victim's vehicle, causing a crash, police said.

The suspect the got out of his vehicle, aimed a gun at the victim, and demanded her phone before leaving the area, heading north on Davisville Road, police said.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody Tuesday morning without incident after getting a tip on his identity.
