Tomorrow, Feb. 16, the Upper Moreland Music Patrons will host “A Little Night Music.”

“Some students will be helping as ushers and bringing baked goods for the reception, but their main role is to get a taste of high musical culture and hopefully, discover that they can approach it, understand it and even enjoy it on many different levels,” said Eileen Fields, the Upper Moreland Middle School vocal music teacher.
Fields said she has put a great deal of time into preparing for the concert by practicing on her own, as well as working with the other performers on their pieces.

Upper Moreland Middle School teachers Brian Stahl and Amber Woolley, and Upper Moreland Intermediate School teacher Rachel Fellmeth will perform with Fields.
“We all chose songs we thought would showcase our musical abilities, as well as being appealing to our audience. We all went for contrasts in the music to keep it interesting: different moods, different tempos, different styles,”Fields said.
Stahl will perform with his jazz quartet, Forecast. Woolley will play classical music pieces by Beethoven and Bach. Fields will be singing four humorous songs, and Fellmeth will play three piano pieces.
“This concert is also a way for students to get a concrete understanding of the musical standards their music teachers are reaching for in every school rehearsal.” said Fields. “I also like the fact that they have a chance to see their music teachers not just as teachers, but as true professional musicians and performers who work hard at their craft.”
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. They can be purchased ahead of time at the Upper Moreland Middle School ticket office or on the night of the concert.
