Given the budget situation can the township afford to hire more police officers?

Mike Snovitch: No. If we would have kept the same amount of police, we would had to have a 50 percent increase in property taxes in a period of two years.

Donna Wright: I feel exactly the same [as Mike Snovitch]. We had to cut down on police because of budget constraints. We had more police officers than we needed, given the township has grown very little in the past 10 years. Right now we have two full-time officers to keep us on track; any more than that it would cost too much.
