Lower Milford Residents Attend Zoning Meeting to Oppose Mining Project
Residents listened to new testimony in the Geryville mining case, and an old zoning matter was resolved for township residents
During a brief zoning meeting March 23, Lower Milford residents who braved the weather heard new information in both the Geryville Materials case and about the resolution of an ongoing zoning issue for one Lower Milford family. Here are the key points from the meeting:
-John and Kimberly Stagg, 7343 Lay St, Coopersburg, have reached an agreement with Lower Milford Township and are currently awaiting signatures. The issue was held over to the April 27 hearing, at which time a written agreement should be received by the township.
-In the matter regarding Geryville Materials, Inc and Lower Milford Township and the Residents’ Association, over two dozen people were in attendance for the March 23 meeting.

-Geryville Materials, Inc. is proposing to open a 90-acre quarry on 628.43 acres of land at West Mill Hill and Buhman Roads in Lower Milford Township. Most residents do not want the quarry in their community.
-In a continuance from the February 7 meeting, Val Britton, witness for Geryville Materials, was cross examined and grilled extensively about the infiltration system, ground water runoff and storm water runoff for over an hour.
