Solehi Library Looking for Your Art Contribution
Upcoming exhibition focuses on travel while raising money for the Southern Lehigh Public Library
The is holding an open call for artists to submit their work for its annual summer art show, Travel, running July 11 – Sept. 19. The summer show will feature local art depicting non-local scenes.
"We are looking for any kind of photography, paintings, needlepoint-- anything depicting non-local travel," said Charles Daniels, volunteer art show coordinator. "Whether it’s a landscape from the south of France or photos in Kentucky, just as long as it’s not local."
Submission can be dropped off at the Southern Lehigh Public Library, 3200 Preston Lane, Center Valley, on Saturday, July 9 from 11:30am - 3:30pm.

- Two-Dimensional artwork in any medium, no Three-Dimensional pottery or sculpture.
- Pieces should not exceed 34 inches in length and 26 inches in width.
- All pieces must be securely wired and braced for hanging prior to submission.
- No canvas art with visible staples will be accepted.
Although this is not a juried show, participants will have the opportunity to sell their artwork with 15 percent commission of the sale going to the library.
"I think a lot of people don't know that the artwork is for sale," said Daniels. "The first year we sold $3,000 worth of paintings but the last few years it has been spotty."
This is a great opportunity for local artists and closet artists to submit work for show and sale. The added benefit is supporting the arts and beautifying the library. For more information on submissions, contact Daniels at cdaniels@epix.net or Lynette Seager at saeger@solehipl.org.
