Viewfinder: Zydeco-a-Go-Go Comes to Town

"Laissez les bons temps rouler!" as the French say. Translated, it states, "Let the good times roll!"

And that's exactly what Zydeco-a-Go-Go's message is to its fans.

Based in Philadelphia, this local group's forte is in Louisiana-style music. Offering a mix of Cajun 2-step (a style of Jitterbug), New Orleans rhythm and blues and a little vintage Louisiana rock and roll, Zydeco-a-Go-Go will get even the oldest in the crowd up and dancing.

The interesting blend from the sound of the accordion and frattoir (rubboard) accompanied by the saxophone, electric guitar, electric bass and drums is sure to fire up the musical soul of any listener.

As part of Upper Saucon Township Community Park's summer music series, Zydeco-a-Go-Go performed for free on Thursday, Aug. 4 under a pavilion, while children and adults danced and tapped their toes to the beat.
