What is your position on collaborating with the school board?
April 28, Upper Saucon Board of Supervisors Forum
Dennis Benner: I think it’s very, very important that local government interacts in a very meaningful way with the school board. It’s easy to lay policy on a school board that binds their hands. I think that a lot of the problems that end up in the school district’s hands you don’t have any choice about because it’s directed or governed by local governmental policy. I think clearing that away is incredibly important.
Bruce F. Carstensen: I would certainly rejoice at the opportunity to work with the school board and bring to bear any and all help that they need and provide just about everything we can. Children are a top priority. Working to get that relationship functioning in an effective manner is something that I think we all could get behind.
Patrick M. Leonard: I think we have to work with the school board. The school board and board of supervisors haven’t had the closest relationship in the past but it;s important to develop a close working relationship. We all have to work together to make sure what we have is the best it can be.
