Bucks Co. Man Stabbed Woman, Tried To Flee To Mexico: Police

A Bucks County man who is accused of stabbing a woman in the chest multiple times, nearly killing her, has been arrested at the Mexican border in Texas, according to authorities.

Francisco Hernandez, 32, of Warminster tried to flee the country into Mexico at the Brownsville, Texas crossing and was arrested Monday morning, police said.

The stabbing occurred on Nov. 8 at the First Presbyterian Church parking lot in Phoenixville.

Hernandez, also known as Leo Alvarado, was turned over by Border Patrol agents to the Cameron County, Texas Sheriff's Department, and now awaits extradition to Chester County.

Hernandez stabbed a 36-year-old woman from Philadelphia multiple times in the chest, nearly killing her, police said. It is not yet clear what led to the stabbing.
