Mark B. Miller, Centennial School Board Director, Honored for Outstanding Legislative Advocacy Efforts
Mr. Miller was chosen for his commitment to impacting legislative action, mobilizing grassroots advocacy and raising public awareness.

Mark B. Miller, Centennial School Board Director and Vice President, has been selected for the prestigious Timothy M. Allwein Advocacy Award, which is presented by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA). The annual award recognizes an entire school board or an individual school director in Pennsylvania who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in legislative advocacy efforts on behalf of public schools and students.
Mr. Miller was chosen for his commitment to impacting legislative action, mobilizing grassroots advocacy and raising public awareness. He holds many leadership positions including co-chair of Keystone State Education Coalition, board member of the Network for Public Education, and Federal Relations Network delegate.
He has testified before the House Education Committee on topics such as charter/cyber school reform, Career and Technical Education, strike free education, the Keystone Exams and funding.

“Mr. Miller should be commended for his outstanding work on behalf of the Centennial School District, PSBA and children all across Pennsylvania,” said Nathan Mains, Executive Director of PSBA.
Mr. Miller received the award at the Oct. 22 PASA-PSBA School Leadership Conference in Hershey. At the District’s Nov. 11 Board meeting, State Sen. Stewart Greenleaf, R-12, Upper Moreland, presented a congratulatory citation from the Pennsylvania Senate to Mr. Miller for legislative advocacy on behalf of public education.

“I am here to verify the fact that Mark looks calm and gentle on the outside, but take off that coat and he is a strong and dedicated advocate for public education,” emphasized Senator Greenleaf.
Mr. Miller acknowledged the role that others played in helping him achieve this high level of visibility for his efforts. “Thanks really goes to my own School Board. They have been a great source of encouragement along the way,” Miller stated.
