Board members may serve for a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms, after which they must rotate off the board for at least one year. In appreciation for their six years of service, each departing board member received a plaque containing the limited-edition dove tile.

The tile celebrates the organization’s achievements and those individuals who have played a part in its many successes. Designed exclusively for NOVA by Adam Zayas, head ceramist, and crafted by the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works in Doylestown, Bucks County, the 4½-inch-square tile is made of Bucks County terra cotta clay with a blue-glazed background and edges. Each tile is hand-formed, glazed and fired using techniques similar to those developed more than one hundred years ago by Henry C. Mercer, the Tile Works’ founder and builder. The tile represents peace, hope and new possibilities for victims of sexual assault and other serious crimes.

Tiles, by themselves, are available for $35. Proceeds from the sale support NOVA’s work in assisting crime victims. To purchase a tile, contact NOVA at 215.343.6543 or visit www.novabucks.org.
