Open-Air Artisan Markets to Return This Summer

The Southampton Artisan's Market will be held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from June through October.

The name and the location may have changed, but one thing is for sure – the bi-weekly outdoor markets, formerly known as the , will resume in Southampton come June.

"I'm happy to say we are back," organizer Cathie Forman told the Board of Supervisors at their last meeting. 

Forman said the markets, which will now go by the name Southampton Artisan's Market, will be held in the parking lot on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from June through October.

Proceeds will still benefit the efforts of the , despite the fact that the location has moved from the train station parking lot.

"There were just too many egress issues from the parking lot of the station," said Forman.

Forman also asked the board for its support in making the market a "highlight of the community."

She said it is her hope that the markets can help draw attention to downtown Southampton, rather than having people just drive through and complain.

Look for the first Southampton Artisan's Market on Saturday, June 9 in the Starbucks parking lot.
