Suspect Identified In Upper Southampton Robberies: Cops

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON, PA — A suspect in multiple robberies in Upper Southampton has been identified by police.

James William Gregory III, 28, is wanted in connection to incidents that occurred on Aug. 16 and Aug. 20, police said. He has no fixed address but is known to frequent the Kensington section of Philadelphia as well as Newtown Square, Delaware County.

The first incident, on Aug. 16, took place when Gregory entered the 7-Eleven at 932 Street Road at 4:37 a.m.

Gregory grabbed an employee who was making coffee, shoved him behind the counter, and demanded he empty the cash trap into a black bag which he had brought with him, police said.

Gregory then took several Newport brand cigarettes before fleeing the store on foot, according to authorities.

Then on Aug. 20, at 5:35 p.m., Gregory entered the Philly Soft Pretzel Factory at 555 Second Street Pike, held a knife up to employees, and demanded money from the cash register, police said.

Gregory then also grabbed the tip jar and fled in the direction of Our Lady of Good Counsel School.
