Teen Shot State Trooper During High Speed Chase: Authorities

A teen is in custody after authorities say he shot at a Pennsylvania State Trooper during a high speed chase in Philadelphia Tuesday morning. Trooper Patrick Casey, 31 was shot in the shoulder and back Tuesday morning along I-676 westbound in Center City. He is expected to make a full recovery, authorities say.

It began around 9:30 a.m. in the area between 18th and 22nd Street. That’s when state troopers attempted a traffic stop for an expired registration sticker, Capt. James K. Raykovitz said during an afternoon press conference.
