Those Who Served Honored at Centennial School District's Second Annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11

Following the ceremony, veterans attended social studies classes where they spoke with students about their experiences.

Centennial School District Veterans gathered to share stories of their past and to visit the Veterans Wall at William Tennent High School, which was created to pays tribute to District alumni, faculty and staff who have served in the military. The Wall, which was rededicated in 2013, was the focal point of the Nov. 11, 2014 Veterans Day observation.

Listed on the Wall are the names of more than 125 William Tennent graduates, as well as District faculty and staff, who served in branches of the U.S. Military.

During this year’s ceremony, additional names were added to the plaques and new additions to the wall were dedicated. These additions included sand from Normandy Beach (collected by William Tennent students in 1994 following a musical performance) and Lee Teter’s print, “Reflections,” which was donated by Skip Shultz, Vietnam Veteran and member of the Class of ’63.
