"The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and "Imaginary Friend" author enthralled a group of Upper St. Clair students.
UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Stephen Chbosky might be a bestselling author, screenwriter and director, but he obviously hasn't forgotten his roots. Chbosky, the author of the acclaimed "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and the new novel "Imaginary Friend," returned Tuesday to Upper St. Clair High School.
The 1988 USC grad spoke to about 30 students, mostly from the school's theater, creative writing, IB Art and IB Psychology classes.
According to a district release, in responding to the question of how to make a story flow and remain interesting, Chbosky encouraged students to learn to write by first being a reader and then offered the following advice.
