Allegheny County Students and Teachers Invited to Study Founding Principles in the Nation’s Capital
Scholarships Provided by the Allegheny Foundation
Washington, D.C. - The Bill of Rights Institute is proud to announce that the Allegheny Foundation will provide scholarships for eight Allegheny County residents to study the Constitution in Washington, D.C. this summer.

Four scholarships are available to Allegheny high school students to attend the Constitutional Academy, the nation’s premier program for students to study the Constitution. Scholarships are also available for four Allegheny County teachers to attend the Institute’s Founders Fellowship, which explores the intersections of civil and economic liberty.
During the Constitutional Academy, students will read the Founding documents and discuss contemporary issues in light of the Founding principles with students from across the country and constitutional scholars. While in Washington, D.C. students will visit museums and the U.S. Capitol.

This summer’s Constitutional Academy program dates are July 15-20, 2013. The application deadline is May 1, 2013. Application information can be found online at www.BillofRightsInstitute.org/constitutional-academy-application.
During the Founders Fellowship program, teachers will enjoy lectures with constitutional scholars, discussions with fellow teachers, and scholar-led visits to historic sites including Mount Vernon, the National Archives, and a monument tour. Teachers will be selected based upon their leadership displayed in the classroom and dedication to educating their students about the connections between politics and economics.
This summer’s Founders Fellowship program dates are July 22-26, 2013. The application deadline is March 26, 2013. Application information can be found online at www.BillofRightsInstitute.org/ff-2013/.
