Highmark recognizes 12 employees with presentation of Jefferson Awards for Public Service

Highmark Inc. recently recognized 12 employees with a Jefferson Award for Public Service in an effort to spotlight their unwavering commitment to the community through volunteerism. Highmark serves as a Jefferson Award Champion, and is one of only 25 companies across the country with the privilege to recognize its employees with the prestigious award.

Brian Canose, an Upper St. Clair resident and EDW consultant in Highmark's informatics intelligence enablement department, was among those recognized with a Jefferson Award during a special ceremony at the company's Pittsburgh headquarters.

As a cancer survivor, Brian knows what men go through physically and emotionally when they discover the diagnosis. During the past six years, he has dedicated more than 3,375 hours to helping men cope with cancer. Through organizations such as Support for People with Oral, Head and Neck Cancer and Reel Recovery, Brian has touched lives by consulting with newly diagnosed cancer patients via phone, email and annual retreats.
