Local Golfers Take Top Honors at National Kidney Foundation Cadillac Golf Classic National Finals

Showing poise under pressure, Bob Macosko, of Bethel Park, and his team bested the competition at the nation’s premiere golf course over the weekend.
Macosko was part of the Pittsburgh-based foursome who finished in first place at the National Kidney Foundation Cadillac Golf Classic National Finals. The team shot rounds of 61-62-61 for a three day, 184 total to win the 2013 tournament held January 18-20.
Macosko was joined by Tom Ali of Venetia, PA; Michael Cavanagh of Canonsburg, PA; and Mike Sabota of Canonsburg, PA. The foursome qualified for the Pebble Beach finals by finishing in the top 3 of the Valley Brook Country Club NKF Cadillac Golf Classic held last year. They faced off against 50 other amateur golf teams from across the country over the weekend. Teams played the fabled fairways and signature holes of the Monterey Peninsula: Pebble Beach Golf Links, Del Monte Golf Course and The Links at Spanish Bay in the four-person scramble format event.
Funds raised through the tournament help support National Kidney Foundation programs in early detection of chronic kidney disease, public education, research and patient advocacy.
