A Vile Man Continues to Hog the National Stage

Many had hoped that we had heard the last of child molester/beast Jerry Sandusky when he was sent off to rot in prison for the rest of his life, yet sadly, he continues to hog the national stage.

I was saddened to learn that jailhouse interviews with him, in which he will no doubt again assert his innocence and how he has been wronged by the justice system, will air on NBC.

No doubt the broadcast will be watched with rapt attention by millions.  Just as we are unable to avert our gaze from a train wreck, so too will we be unable to avoid the one-man freak show that is Jerry Sandusky.

When a media circus such as the one to come occurs, I think of the victims of this criminal conspiracy, how awful it must make them feel for the man that destroyed their lives to be able to continue to command attention and to portray all of them as liars that accused him of atrocities in order to receive money.

It would be gratifying to believe that NBC's Sandusky interviews would be a ratings bust, that the world would be sufficiently fed up with him as to tune out, but that will most certainly not be the case.  How satisfying it must be for a supremely evil, wicked, and unrepentant man to know that he continues to get the media to dance to his tune, even from jail.
