Hamid Karzai Expectorates in the Face of His Savior and Benefactor...Again

Given the abysmal state of United States relations with Afghanistan, our dependent “ally”, what will the situation be like after all American combat troops have left its soil?

The increasing level of bombast directed at the United States by President Hamid Karzai reached a crescendo in recent days with his outlandish charge that we are in cahoots with the vile Taliban in seeking to foment instability and chaos through terrorist bombings so that we may keep our forces there.

Karzai is quick to set aside the fact that he is the leader of a nation with elections and at least a modicum of democracy by virtue of the blood, sweat, tears, and hundreds of billions of dollars of "yankee" money that will have been spent when the tariff for this expensive proposition is tallied decades from now.  His lack of gratitude and humility in spite of our monumental  sacrifice on his behalf and that of his countrymen and women, is stunning.  As is so often the case in the annals of U. S. foreign policy, we are finding that we have created a monster.

Hamid Karzai purports to want the United States out of Afghanistan.  I say that we should oblige him and bid this thankless mission and the thankless Afghan leader good riddance today.  The adage, "No good deed goes unpunished" has been proven once again.

I have the deepest empathy and sorrow for our brave and valiant forces that have sacrificed lives, limbs, and time with their cherished families to serve and sacrifice in the unfriendly terrain that is Afghanistan...for what?
