Where to Bury a Terrorist? Who Cares?
If Russia Will Not Accept the Body, Cremate the Wretched Corpse of the Terrorist
A national issue has arisen over where the body of the deceased Boston Marathon terrorist bombing suspect will be buried, given that no American cemetery has yet expressed the willingness to accept it.
The matter should be quite simple.
If Russia will accept the body, it should be shipped to his Chechnyan family at its expense. If it will not, then the body should be cremated. If cremation offends the religious sensibilities of his survivors, that is too bad. The terrorist sacrificed the ability to enjoy the burial of his choosing when he elected to indiscriminately slaughter and maim innocent men, women, and children. The pain that will be felt by his surviving family members over what they might see as an improper disposition of remains pales in comparison to the lifetime of grief and misery the decedent inflicted on the myriad decent, innocent people whose lives he shattered through his savagery. The last thing on the minds of the American people should be where a man who personified evil is interred. We owe him and his family nothing.
