Fans to Discover Fate of Local 'Idol' Contestant Tonight

“American Idol” fans will have to wait until Thursday night to find out if Washington County’s own Adam Brock made it as one of the popular reality show’s final 24 contestants.

The segment featuring Brock’s performance was the last of Wednesday's two-hour show—one that found him wiping at tears and telling the judges that singing was the way “I know God blessed me.”

Brock, 27, is a new father and the creative arts director at the Central Assembly of God in Houston, the Observer-Reporter has indicated.

In an emotional exchange with the judges, Brock said he hoped people recognized in him a person who “tried to sing his heart out” every time he graced the stage.

Because music for him, he told the judges, wasn’t an option.

“I have to sing,” he told them, crying.

The judges ended the show by telling him he lacked the confidence in himself that they had in him, and said that their decision was difficult—and one that was not unanimous.

What that decision was—whether he would go on to the next round or go home—was left for Thursday night’s episode, though. It will air at 8 p.m. on FOX.

If Brock is green lighted, he will go onto the level of competition where contestants perform live and fan votes determine their fates.

When the Idol judges , they said they found superstar talent—and they might be on to something. So far, four others who auditioned in Pittsburgh—Erika Van Pelt, Creighton Fraker, Reed Grimm and Heejun Han—have made it to the top 24.
