Think that you could help to guide Upper St. Clair's future?
The township's Youth Steering Committee, a community action group whose members are jointly appointed by the Upper St. Clair Board of Commissioners and Board of School Directors, is designed to provide support and positive direction for area youths, and the committee's next member could be you.
Township officials are asking those interested in joining the Youth Steering Committee to complete this community talent bank survey and send it to the municipal building at 1820 McLaughlin Run Rd., Upper St, Clair, PA 15241. For more information, you can call the township offices at 412-831-9000 or the Upper St. Clair School District Central Office at 412-833-1600.
Youth Steering Committee members include representatives from both appointing boards as well as other adult residents, high school students and parents. The committee consists of 16 members right now, but there is a vacancy at Vice Chairperson.
Here are the committee's objectives:
- to inform and educate the community;
- to reduce the incidences of drug and alcohol abuse among the youth of the community; and
- to effect the positive well-being of Upper St. Clair youths.
If that interests you, you may also complete the talent bank survey or call 412-831-9000 or 412-833-1600 for more information.
