Retirement Community Resident Finds New "Career" in Television

For many, the end of a successful career means the beginning of doing all the things you never had time for. That might include travel or pursuit of a hobby. But for Sharron Nance, who lives at Croasdaile Village, a local retirement community, retirement had a different meaning - trying her hand in television.

You might call Sharron a “producer.” She devotes four to six hours every day working at the community’s two in-house television channels. Describing herself as a workaholic, Sharron says she loves keeping the channels up to date with all kinds of information, including community happenings, calendars, birthdays, menus and more. She also designs all the graphics, using a variety of backgrounds, fonts and even images from the photos she takes around campus.

"I really enjoy what I do," Sharron says. "It allows me to stay creative each day, and play a small role in providing a needed service to our community."
