It is highly distressing to read in today's major Pittsburgh newspaper that almost 50% of current births in the United States are funded by Medicaid, thus the children born under these circumstances are being brought into the world in poverty, a situation that is fueled by the rampant number of out of wedlock births: children having children.
This sad phenomenon raises the important question of whether there is an inherent American entitlement to have and raise a family at the expense of others. Government at all levels has responded with a resounding, "Yes, absolutely!"
What do we do when there are so many individuals that are garnering unsustainable entitlements that there are no taxpayers left to fund them?
