Miracle Leaguers' PNC Park Pitch a Strike (Video)

Included in the video is an Upper St. Clair youngster.

A 10-foot-tall pitching machine that players fromΒ The Miracle League of the South Hills helped to buildΒ threw out the ceremonial first pitchΒ atΒ PNC ParkΒ this pastΒ Sunday, and the pitch was right on target.

The event was captured on videoβ€”see mediaΒ aboveβ€”withΒ Brent "Buddy" Hall in attendance. Buddy, 11,Β plays at The Miracle League of the South Hills' fieldΒ located inΒ Boyce Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair Township.

Also on hand wasΒ Jackie Kobeski, 11, of Upper St. Clair. Jackie can be seen in the above video. She earned a spot on the field by winning aΒ coloring contest sponsored by the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh.

The pitching machine is aΒ trebuchetΒ that wasΒ built by kids in theΒ MAKESHOP at the Children's MuseumΒ as a part of the museum'sΒ "Rookie of the Gear" program.

From June 22 to Aug. 31, museum officialsΒ collected designs, drawings and inspirations from hundreds of Pittsburgh-area kids prior to Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday home games. Activities were then held in the MAKESHOPΒ where the participants could actually help to build theΒ trebuchet.
