The University of Pittsburgh travels to Iowa to take on graduate Kirk Ferentz and his Hawkeyes.
This is Ferentz's 13th year as head coach of the Iowa football team. He has extensive ties to Pittsburgh. Ferentz was inducted into the Upper St. Clair High School Hall of Fame in Sept. 2002 and the Western Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in May 2003. In 1980, Ferentz served as a graduate assistant offensive line coach at Pitt. That team—coached by Jackie Sherrill—finished with an 11-1 record and a number two national ranking.
