PSU Board of Trustees Fires Paterno, Spanier
The news was announced during a press conference Wednesday night.
The Penn State University Board of Trustees decided to release head coach Joe Paterno and President Graham Spanier of their duties. They announced their decision during a 20-minute press conference on Wednesday night.
Paterno, who announced Wednesday morning , will not coach in Penn State football's final home game of the season this Saturday. The all-time winningest coach was notified Wednesday evening via phone.Â
Defensive coordinator Tom Bradley has been named interim head coach.
