Update: No One Hurt in Sarris Candies Fire
The fire was contained to the ice cream parlour, according to Sarris Candies' Facebook update.
About a dozen employees safely escaped a fire at early Friday morning.
Kevin Wittik, who works in the shipping department, said he arrived at the Canonsburg store around 6:30 a.m.βwhen smoke first started showing.
βI got in and got everyone out,β he said. βSmoke was just starting to be visible, but then it got pretty intense.β

Wittik and fellow employees gathered in the parking lot as fire crews worked to contain the fire, which appeared to start in the ice cream parlor-side of the buildingβmostly in the roof and attic.
The following was posted on the Sarris Candies Facebook page: "We have already started the cleanup process. The fire was contained to the ice cream parlour. We did suffer damage and will be out for a short period. Thankfully no one was injured and we are ready to get cleaned up and back to work."

And one concern was the upcoming Easter season.
βWeβre gonna have a lot of catching up to do,β Wittik said.
Owner Bill Sarris, though, was optimistic.
βThere is some cleaning to do,β he said. βWeβll hopefully be back in business as soon as possible.β
When?
He expected βdays instead of weeks.β
Trucks are out, he said, and deliveries are being made.
βThe Easter Bunny is safe,β Sarris said.
