So You Wish You Could Dance?

The DeMarillac Guild sponsors, 'So You Wish You Could Dance.'

As Valentine’s Day approaches, it seems as if dancing is always something fun to do with your sweetheart. At 6:30 on Friday night, attendees of the "So You Wish You Could Dance" event, held at St. Louise Parish, began dancing the night away. The event was sponsored by the DeMarillac Guild as their annual Guest Night where a light dinner was provided and two Arthur Murray dance instructors gave an hour-long dance lesson. Even after the dance instructors left, the dance floor was a blur of movement continuing well into the night.

"The television show, 'So You Think You Can Dance' is so popular we decided to name our event 'So You Wish You Could Dance,'" said Dolores Weisenheimer, co-chair for the event.

The event drew almost 90 attendees and not all of them were parishioners at St. Louise.

"I like to have a night out and I enjoy meeting people," said Liz Wood who heard of the dance through a friend. "I like the faster dances."

The DeMarillac Guild is celebrating their 50th year of service to the community parish. Their next event is March 10th, when the Dress Barn will sponsor a fashion show at the upcoming general meeting.
