Theft Suspect Pleads Guilty to Lesser Charge

A man accused of stealing an Upper St. Clair woman's wallet and using her credit card pleaded to a lesser summary disorderly conduct charge and paid back the victim on Monday in .

Thomas J. Reiber, 32, of 110 Broughton Rd. Bethel Park, was originally charged with one count theft by unlawful taking and one count access device fraud.

According to the criminal complaint filed by the , a woman living at a home on Montclair Drive noticed her Coach wallet missing from her purse the morning of Sept. 26—about one hour after workmen arrived at her house.

Police stated in the complaint that Reiber surfaced as a suspect in the $170 loss to the woman and that on Sept. 29 he provided police a statement admitting theft and attempting to use a credit card.

Reiber apologized to the victim in court.
