Upper St. Clair Commencement 2019: What You Need To Know

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - It's almost cap and gown time for Upper St. Clair High School seniors. The 2019 baccalaureate and commencement ceremonies are set for June 6; baccalaureate, which is mandatory for graduating seniors, will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the theater. The commencement ceremony will follow starting at 7 p.m. in the stadium, weather permitting.

School officials say every attempt will be made to hold the commencement ceremony outside. But in the event of inclement weather, commencement will be relocated to the high school gym and d seating will be limited. School officlas will finalize the location by 5:45 p.m. and communicate via the district’s website, automated calls to senior families and social media.

Spectators may use one of two entrances, located at each end zone, to access the home-side bleachers for the outside commencement ceremony.

• Enter the high school via the theater entrance, turn right down the hallway through the athletic wing and exit the building through the large gymnasium.
• From the Truxton Drive area, spectators should enter the stadium via the entrance adjacent to the end zone.

Handicapped parking and drop-off is available at the lower parking lot, adjacent to the stadium’s end zone. The lot is only accessible via the Truxton Road delivery-service entrance. Additional handicapped parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the theater entrance. Vehicles must have a handicap placard to park in these designated areas.

Complimentary shuttle bus service will run from the parking lots at Upper St. Clair township building, public works building (bottom of Truxton Drive) and Westminster Presbyterian Church (the lot adjacent to the high school property) beginning at 5 p.m.

If needed due to rain, each student will receive four unique barcoded tickets for access to the gym. The tickets will be delivered electronically to the senior’s @uscstudents.org email account no later than May 31, 2019.

Additional climate-controlled seating will be available in the high school large group instruction (LGI) room, nutrition center and theater, where friends and family can watch a live video feed of the ceremony. The theater nd LGI will be an option whether graduation is held inside or outside.

The commencement ceremony will also be televised on Verizon channel 41, throughout the community on Comcast channel 19, and live streamed on the Internet at http://uscsd.org/graduation2019.
