Upper St. Clair Halls Of Fame To Welcome 11 New Inductees

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - The Upper St. Clair High School Halls of Fame will induct nine new alumni and two former staff members this year during a ceremony at the Panthers’ football game against Hampton on Oct. 20.

Founded in 2000, the Upper St. Clair Halls of Fame honors those who have distinguished themselves in academics, the arts, or athletics at the high school, collegiate or professional level and who, in so doing, have contributed to the pride and prestige of Upper St. Clair High School.

The 2017 Halls of Fame inductees:

Academic Hall of Fame:

· Deanna Baird, Retired World Language Teacher
· Kristen Clendaniel Clark, Class of 1986
· Richard D. Crowley, Class of 1975
· Lindsay Orchowski, Class of 1999

Arts Hall of Fame:
· Duppy Demetrius, Class of 1989
· Susan Matteson Carringer, Class of 1979
· Eleni Romanias, Class of 2010
· Leanne Ford, Class of 1999

Athletic Hall of Fame:
· Ernie Koontz, Retired Chemistry Teacher & Girls’ Basketball Coach
· Dean Astorino, Class of 1992
· Mack McGuire, Class of 2010

The Halls of Fame event will begin with a 3:30 p.m. reception in the high school’s theatre lobby, followed by the induction ceremony at 4:30 p.m. in the theatre. Immediately following, an informal dinner – honoring the inductees and their families – will be held in the Nutrition Center.

Attendance to the Halls of Fame induction ceremony is free and open to the public. The cost to attend the dinner is $12.50 (checks should be made payable to Upper St. Clair School District). The invitation can be downloaded. RSVP to Nancy Dunn at hof@uscsd.k12.pa.us by Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017.

The celebration concludes with a Parade of Honor to Panther Stadium, where the Halls of Fame members will be introduced to the community prior to the Upper St. Clair-Hampton football game, which kicks-off at 7:45 p.m.
