Upper St. Clair To Hold Marching Band Festival

The 44th annual festival is coming up soon. Find out here when it will occur.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - The 44th annual Upper St. Clair Marching Band Festival has been scheduled for Saturday Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at the high school stadium. Hosted by the Upper St. Clair Band Parents Association, the event will feature bands from six high schools.

Also performing are the marching bands from Baldwin, Brashear, South Allegheny, South Fayette and Steel Valley high schools.

Tickets, which are $8 for adults and $5 for students, are available in advance from any USC band student or can be purchased at the gate.

The Upper St. Clair Marching Band will perform its festival show, “WUSC Radio,” which opens with Rihanna's “We Found Love,” followed by Aretha Franklin's “Respect.” The band's third movement is “Hernando's Hideaway” from the Pajama Game, and the show closes with “Saturday Night's Alright (for Fighting),” by Elton John.

The band is under the direction of Don Pickell and led on the field by Drum Majors Maggie Halloran and Ben Nelson.

The 2019 Upper St. Clair High School Panther Marching Band is a performing ensemble comprised of 102 musicians and auxiliary members. The band performs at athletic events, parades and festivals throughout the region and around the country. The band has won awards at festivals and competitions throughout the United States and Canada.
