Upper St. Clair Police Investigate Home Burglary

are investigating a house burglary that happened during the day on Tuesday, May 29.

David Mitchell, who lives on Pinetree Drive in Deerfield Manor, said he came home from work to find cash and jewelry missing, including jewelry he had from his mother who passed away about a month ago.

Upper St. Clair police think the burglar or burglars came from Route 19 and through the woods to the back of Mitchell's home and got into the house through his locked, but weak, back door, according to Mitchell.

Mitchell is glad the thief or thieves didn't take his TV or Corvette. He's still trying to figure out how many pieces of jewelry were stolen, but estimates he lost $5,000 to $10,000. However, he's most upset about the irreplaceable items, such as his mother's wedding ring.

Mitchell is now having an alarm system installed in his home to deter any possible future burglars. He hopes his story will alert his neighbors and prevent any more burglaries in Deerfield Manor.
