Upper St. Clair School District Property Taxes To Rise

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Property taxes will rise two percent under the proposed 2019-20 budget Upper St. Clair school directors are scheduled to adopt June 19. The $85.6 million spending plan will increase the tax rate by 0.5172 mills.
What does that mean for homeowners? On a home assessed at $250,000, taxes will rise $129.24 for the fiscal year or $10.77 per month.
“We are pleased to present a responsible budget that supports quality education and is mindful of the burden on our taxpayers,” Superintendent John Rozzo said in a district release.. “I am proud to share that this budget maintains all existing educational programs and continues the district’s investment in safety, security and student wellness.”

The proposed budget increase expenditures 2.37 percent, the lowest percentage increase since
2012-13.
The budget includes more than $800,000 in safety, security and student wellness upgrades.

The two-percent tax increase is below the 2.3 percent inflationary index determined by the state Department of Education.
