Upper St. Clair Schools Getting $22.6 Million In Upgrades
Work will start within weeks on the projects at the high school, stadium and Boyce field.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Construction is expected to start within weeks on $22.6 million in Upper St. Clair School District capital improvement projects.
When the work is completed in August 2019, the high school will have a new aquatics center with an 8-lane pool and special use pool; the stadium will have a new multi-use complex that will include district offices and a Boyce Middle School building that will have a changing and concession areas and an announcing booth.
The work also will include removal of a pedestrian bridge at the high school, new electrical service from Truxton Drive, stadium light pole relocations, visitor-side bleacher refinishing, a new stadium scoreboard and sound system, paving the Boyce field parking lot and other improvements.
School directors on Monday approved several contracts for the work, including a $16.1 contract to Mucci Construction for general construction work. The project’s overall cost will require a tax increase that district officials have estimated will boost taxes on a home with the district median assessed value of $223,550 by $102 annually or $8.52 a month.

These latest projects follow extensive renovations at all six district schools over the past two decades.
“We have outstanding facilities in our district because we have prioritized our academic learning spaces in the renovation timeline,” district superintendent Patrick O’Toole said in a statement. “This project is consistent with our past standards of excellence. “The additional debt will place some stress on the short-term budgets, but will provide significant benefits for students, families and the community for years to come.”
