Upper St. Clair Sophomore Awarded Girl Scouts' Highest Honor
The award went to Gabriella Spina, a girl scout for 14 years.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - The Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania have honored Upper St. Clair High School sophomore Gabriella Spina with the organization’s highest achievement, the Gold Award. The award, given to girls in grades 9-12, recognizes extraordinary leadership displayed via Take Action projects addressing important community needs.
Spina conceived the project Taking Care of Your SELFie, a one-day workshop for girls in grades 6-8 to addressing poor self-esteem. The workshop advised girls to emphasize and utilize their most positive personal aspects.
Spina serves as secretary/treasurer of Upper St. Clair’s sophomore student council. A girl scout for 14 years, she is a Girl Scout Senior of Troop 52124.
