USC Police Investigating Bank Robbery

PNC Bank on Fort Couch Road robbed Wednesday night.

Upper St. Clair police are investigating a bank robbery near South Hills Village Mall.

Police said there was a robbery at the PNC Bank on Fort Couch Road at about 6:40 p.m. just before closing time. 

The FBI agent on the scene said the thief gave the bank teller a note demanding money and did not show any weapons. The bank teller complied, gave the man an undisclosed amount of money and the man got away.

About 3-4 customers and multiple employees were in the bank during the robbery. Not everyone knew the robbery was taking place at the time, because the thief did not make a scene. No one was hurt.

The suspect is described as a tall and skinny white male, about 6'2'' and 60-65 years of age. Witnesses told investigators he was wearing a trench coat and a black tossle cap, and that he appeared as if he was homeless.

Investigators are now going through surveillance tape to get a picture of the suspect and to see how the man left the scene.
