USC Sophomore Organizes TEDxYouth Event

The upcoming program will focus on youth.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Upper St. Clair High School sophomore Matthew Hornak is thinking big for his International Baccalaureate-MYP project. He has organized a TEDxYouth event with the the appropriate theme “Youth Perspectives” that will feature talks by several Upper St. Clair students and teachers.

The program will be held April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the high school.

“In this first time endeavor for the USCHS community, this TEDx event will focus on youth perspectives,” Hornak said in a district release. “We hope to explore how children affect the world and how the world affects them, what children think, and how our world changes with them.”

Members of the school community can attend the entire TEDxYouth event or stay for specific talks. Each talk will be filmed and uploaded to the TEDxYouth YouTube page and streamed live on Channel 17 from the school.
