Before you agree to sign any consent form to have West Penn Power "prune" your trees to clear the power lines, inform your self by passing Kent Drive to get a first hand view of their appalling work. What I believed was to be a thoughtful process that would blend both the need to clear their power lines with my aesthetic interests as a property owner, was nothing more than a reckless butchering by a third-party contractor (who solicited side jobs as they worked for the utility), which left my two ancient pin oak trees with an enormous and unsightly limb losses. Literally, about 1/5 of my trees' limbs were hacked off. After my complaint, the representative from their Forestry Department said that they don't do the cutting "to make 'em look pretty." I wish they would have printed that on the consent cards.
