168 Traffic Citations Issued By State Police In Enforcement Detail

BUCKS COUNTY, PA —State Police issued 168 traffic citations during a troop-wide traffic enforcement detail throughout Bucks and surrounding counties Tuesday.

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, announced the results of the detail which covered Bucks, Lehigh and Northampton counties.

Results of the Troop wide traffic enforcement detail:

• 168 Traffic Citations
• 76 Warnings
• 4 Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Arrest
• 1 Drug-Related Arrest
• 8 Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) Inspections

The objective of this operation was to conduct aggressive, visible enforcement resulting in increased highway safety, state police said in a press release.

Motorists are also reminded of the mandates of Title 75 Section 3733, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officer, which stipulates that any driver of a motor vehicle who willfully fails or refuses to bring their vehicle to a stop, or who otherwise flees or attempts to elude a pursuing police officer, commits an offense, graded up to a Felony of the 3rd Degree, which carries a maximum sentence of 7 years in prison, a $15,000 fine, and restitution for damages and/or injuries sustained as a result of the pursuit.
